For most colleges and universities, May 1st is the deadline of your enrollment deposit. This is where student will send their deposit to the college they will attend this fall or spring. But before making your deposit, make sure to visit all the schools that accepted you. It is very crucial to visit the campus before making a choice because it will allow you to really get a feel for the campus & all that the school have to offer. As you visit the schools sign up for a tour to view classrooms, dining hall, talk to current students, learn about the school’s resources, & best of all eat at the dining hall.
When visiting campus, you will be able to really get a feel for the school. For example you might only applied to a school just to apply, but after the campus visit, you might fall in love with campus & the resources they offer. Or you might realize the school you really wanted to attend doesn’t feel as homey as you wanted. As you walk around campus, determine if you can envision yourself being a student at the school. If for some reason you can’t visit the campus, please try to take a virtual tour of the campus.
Some other factors to consider when choosing a school are:
-Size of the school
-Ratio for student to professor
-Major and/or minors offered at the school
-Is the school affordable? Will loans be needed, if so federal or private?
-Will you live on campus or commute?
